How did polar bears survive the Earth's previous warming/cooling cycles?

If polar bears survived more severe warming/cooling cycles in the past, why is there concern they won’t survive the current cycle? By the way, I love polar bears.

Polar bears are a rather recent species (<200,000 years). They’ve never faced an extremely warm period with no sea ice.
