How would Polar Bears becoming extinct affect the environment?

Polar bears are my favorite animal, so this is a serious question. Most of the time when a species goes extinct it affects those who prey on it, as they would have no food, but humans are the only creatures in the world that prey on polar bears. Polar bears are the largest land predator, so humans are its only enemy.

But will the lack of polar bears have an effect in other ways?

First off, technically speaking there is one more predator to the polar bear… The Polar Bear. Larger males have been known to kill and eat smaller polar bears when they are forced to do so when hungry. If the polar bears died off, the only thing that I could see being affected would be the seal population, but that wouldn’t be a very large impact in that there really aren’t a lot of polar bears. Anyway, I love them too and don’t want to see them go.
