Clothing (All Provided by the Extreme Winter Clothing Experts, Sub-ZeroBoots.com)
Keeping warm in a cold climate is generally about layers - a base/thermal layer, a warmth mid layer and a wind proof outer layer. It is the air trapped between layers that will keep you warm. This applies to both clothes and boots. It is also quite important not to put too many layers on so that you sweat - sweating is designed to cool the body so when you stop excercising, you get cold very, very fast.
When you are in an extremely cold place, you want extremely good gear. Luckily we have THE best cold weather in the world - Canada Goose - Just ask anyone that knows!
Seriously, this kit is used as standard equipment in every cold place imaginable. While the tourists might be wearing high street fashion/outdoor brands, anyone who spends time in a cold place is wearing much warmer and harder wearing kit. And there is a good chance this will be it.

Canada Goose Expedition Jacket
These are the warmest and coolest jackets you can get and are virtually standard equipment in Antarctica. If we lose our tent, we are going to crawl in and sleep in them.
If you ever get cold on a day out in the UK , you need one of these and you can now buy a version in Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichs or straight from the source at Sub-ZeroBoots.com

Woolpower Thermals
Lots of companies pretend to make thermals but there are none quite like this. Swedish Woolpower takes the finest wool (Australian Merino of course) and turns it into a cosy bed with sleeves and legs.
When it comes to the cold, wear what the experts wear. If it is good enough for the Swedes in a cold Swedish winter, it is going to be just great for us.

Baffin Expeditions Boots
Believe it or not, these boots are rated down to -100C! Given the coldest temperature ever recorded was -89.2C (at Vostok, a Russian base in central Antarctica), if you use these, you will never ever ever have cold feet again.
Putting your feet into these in just like covering your footsies with a duvet. Plus, you'd never believe how light they are - they weigh less than my hiking boots. And you guessed it, you can buy them from the Extreme Winter Clothing experts at Sub-ZeroBoots.com
